"Aprons" was this year's theme for the Piecemakers’ Quilt Guild Challenge. Bonnie Elliot of Peterson designed the winning entry she titled, "Bloom." Contestants had modeled their aprons at the last guild meeting and each member got one vote to pick their favorite. The winners were announced at the guild's annual quilt show, held during Spring Grove's Syttende Mai celebration. This year's show was held at a new location, the former veterinary clinic on the east edge of Spring Grove.

There were 22 entries, with second place going to Judy Stiner for a "Stack and Whack" design and third to Joan Ike with a "Cows" theme.
